Author & Founder
Sandra Gonzalez-Mora, M.Ed., was born in Mexico City and migrated with her family to Los Angeles when she was 4 years old. Her enjoyment in children’s books comes from her 18-year career in early childhood education where she used books to help parents and preschool teachers prepare young children for kindergarten.
What began as advocacy for family literacy, and a research project while in graduate school, eventually lead to her writing bilingual children's books with the help of her son and daughter. Their mission now is to increase the number of bilingual children's books in the market that help introduce children to a sophisticated vocabulary because this is linked to later reading and life success. Her first published bilingual book, Mommy, Tell Me Why I Am Radiant / Mami, ¿dime por qué soy radiante? received two International Latino Book Awards.
Sandra’s favorite word is serendipity simply because of how fun it is to say. Her favorite quote is, “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth” by Muhammad Ali.
She has an affinity for dancing anywhere, foreign travel lures her, and walking labyrinths calms her.
