Young and wise Julia Rae Rodriguez takes readers through her own life journey of reflection, imperfection, acceptance, appreciation and ultimately a celebration of growing up.

About the author -

Julia Rae Rodriguez is a Mexican-American teen poet from Whittier, California. Julia is a proud student of K-12 public education. Currently a junior at Whittier High School, she began writing poetry at the age of 12. She was inspired to write by her love of language and her desire to express her emotions and experiences. Her poems explore themes of identity, culture, and all types of human relationships.

She is a member of the Whittier High School Theatre Company and performs with Next Level Theatre Company. She writes for the WHS Cardinal and White school newspaper. Julia strives to be accepted at one of the top universities with exceptional theater arts and creative writing programs. She is passionate about using poetry to connect with others and to share her stories.

 

She believes that poetry and rhetoric are a powerful tool for self-expression and social change. She hopes to continue writing and to inspire others to do the same.
